Highlights

ORDINANCE NO. 2024-137

AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE RENTAL OF STALLS, BOOKING AND CARGO OFFICES, WAREHOUSE, AND LEASED PROPERTIES FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2024 AT THE BICOL CENTRAL STATION (BCS):

SECTION 1. PURPOSE. This Ordinance is enacted to provide one month reprieve in the rental payment of tenants at the Bicol Central Station in view of the damage and disruption caused by the severe flooding brought by Tropical Storm “Kristine” in most parts of the city last October 23-25, 2024.

SECTION 2. OBJECTIVE. This ordinance is enacted in view of the damages to property and losses in capital and merchandise suffered by the tenants at the Bicol Central Station whose stalls had been submerged under water for at least three (3) days since the onslaught of Tropical Storm “Kristine” last October 23, 2024 and these stallholders need any possible assistance to help them cope up in the rehabilitation and continued operation of their business.

This assistance is consistent with the city government’s commitment to support and assist its local business community especially during times of crisis and calamities that wrought them heavy losses due to damages, destructions and sufferings caused by typhoons and other similar natural disturbances.

SECTION 3. Full monthly (100%) rentals of stalls, booking and cargo offices, warehouse, and leased properties are hereby waived for the month of November 2024.

SECTION 4. EFFECTIVITY. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

ENACTED: November 19, 2024
