AN ORDINANCE CONVERTING THE NAGA CITY HOSPITAL LOCATED AT BARANGAY PEÑAFRANCIA, NAGA CITY, INTO A PRIMARY HEALTH CARE FACILITY:-

RATIONALE

The Naga City Hospital located at Barangay Peñafrancia, this city, has been declared as Local Economic Enterprise (LEE) in the year 2019 through Ordinance No. 2019-015. This institution is part of the frontline social services of the city government that focuses on medical and diagnostic services to respond to the need of the people for quality health care.

Given the rapid progress, development, and increasing population of the city, the Naga City Hospital was expanded and upgraded to a new and bigger location in Barangay Balatas, now officially named as “Naga City Hospital II (NCH II)”.

Notwithstanding the establishment of NCH II, the Naga City Hospital located in Barangay Peñafrancia, this city, is still indispensable to bring health services and wellbeing closer to Nagueños as Primary Health Care Facility. Thus, this ordinance.

Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Naga, that:

SECTION 1. The Naga City Hospital located at Barangay Peñafrancia, this city, is hereby converted into a Primary Health Care Facility to ensure that health care is delivered in a way that is centered on people’s needs and respects their preferences.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect after completion and operation of the Naga City Hospital II.
