AN ORDINANCE FURTHER STRENGTHENING PEOPLE EMPOWERMENT AND PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNANCE BY ESTABLISHING THE CODE OF GOOD GOVERNANCE UPON WHICH THE QUALIFICATION OF NON-GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE’S ORGANIZATIONS SEEKING ACCREDITATION BY THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF NAGA SHALL BE BASED
Summary: This ordinance, known as the “Code of Good Governance of Non-Government (NGOs) and People’s Organizations (POs) in Naga City,” aims to further strengthen people’s empowerment and participation in governance. It establishes core principles (responsive, transparent, participatory, and accountable governance) and indicators of good organizational governance for NGOs and POs. These principles and indicators will serve as the basis for approving or disapproving applications for NGO/PO accreditation by the City Government of Naga. It also outlines compliance assessment and the continuing role of the Naga City People’s Council (NCPC).
