ORDINANCE NO. 2023-042

This ordinance institutionalizes the deployment of student interns in the offices of the City Government of Naga, promoting hands-on learning and stronger academe–LGU partnerships. It aims to enhance the educational experience of tertiary students by immersing them in real-world government operations while also supporting the city’s manpower needs.

• Establishment of a monitoring and evaluation system to ensure quality learning and intern safety
• Defined eligibility criteria: enrolled status, dean’s endorsement, approved internship plan, parental consent, and insurance coverage
• Requirement for a Memorandum of Internship Agreement and a jointly developed Internship Plan
• Designation of a Faculty Internship Coordinator from the partner HEI
• Task identification by LGU offices, consolidated by the CHRMO
• Budget sourced from the Special Education Fund, with future allocations included in the city’s annual budget
