AN ORDINANCE MANDATING THE RELOCATION OF DISTRIBUTION POLES AND LINES OF VARIOUS UTILITIES IN NAGA CITY, INCLUDING THE REMOVAL OF REDUNDANT LINES, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE THEREOF, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Ordinance No. 2021-047 of Naga City mandates the relocation and removal of electric, telecom, and cable distribution poles and utility lines that obstruct or pose hazards in areas affected by public infrastructure projects, such as road widening or drainage works. Utilities are required to submit inventories, comply with relocation standards, and remove inactive lines within set timelines; failure to do so results in escalating penalties, including fines, imprisonment, and suspension of permits. The city may also undertake the relocation at the utility’s expense if they fail to act. An inter-agency task force is established to oversee and enforce the ordinance.
