ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 65 OF ORDINANCE NO. 2015-012, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS EDUCATION CODE OF NAGA CITY, BY INCREASING THE RATE OF SUBSIDY TO TUITION FEES OF CITY SCHOLARS STUDYING IN PRIVATE COLLEGES / UNIVERSITIES AND BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO CITY SCHOLARS ENROLLED IN STATE COLLEGES / UNIVERSITIES AND LOCAL COLLEGES / UNIVERSITIES IN LIEU OF SUBSIDY IN PAYMENT OF TUITION AND OTHER SCHOOL FEES
Summary: This ordinance amends Section 65 of Ordinance No. 2015-012, known as the Education Code of Naga City. The amendment aims to increase tuition fee subsidies for city scholars attending private colleges/universities and to provide financial assistance to city scholars enrolled in State Colleges/Universities (SUCs) and Local Colleges/Universities (LUCs). This change addresses the impact of inflation on tuition fees and ensures that scholars in SUCs and LUCs continue to receive benefits after the implementation of free tertiary education under Republic Act No. 10931.
