World Teachers’ Day

World Teachers' Day is an international day held annually on 5 October to celebrate the work of teachers. Established in 1994, it commemorates the signing of recommendation by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). (Wikipedia) In the Philippines, the National Teachers’ Month is celebrated from Sept. 5 to Oct. 5 pursuant to Proclamation 242 series of 2011. Republic Act 10743 signed in 2016 also declared the fifth day of October of every year as National Teachers’ Day. (Source: philstar.com)

Araw ng Kagitingan

The Day of Valor, officially known as Araw ng Kagitingan, is a national observance in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan to Japanese troops during World War II. Also known as Bataan Day. Araw ng Kagitingan is a regular holiday in the Philippines.
