Welcome a new week!

We begin a new week today, July 11. July, in case you did not know, is named after the Roman Emperor Julius Ceasar. July 9 (Saturday) was a holiday as the Islamic world celebrated Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail as ordered by Allah. It is one of Islam’s most important holidays.  July is also Nutrition Month, Blood Donation Month, and National Disaster Resilience Month.

Students are on break after schools conclude school year 2021-2022 and DepEd is proposing starting S.Y. 2022-2023 by August 22, 2022 and ending on July 7, 2023. We’ll keep you posted as soon as official announcements are made.

Comelec is preparing for the Barangay (Village) and SK Elections slated in December. As of posting, voter registration was going on at the local Comelec office.

Meanwhile, we continue to improve this website. We’ve made many little changes to improve the look and feel of this website. Among other things,

  • Posts in the News section and other pages can now be shared.
  • The Departments and Offices Directory is being re-checked and updated.
  • New!: Bid opportunities for July 13

Be sure to check back to keep updated on news developments, and in general, to just see what’s going on in Naga City. As always, feedback is welcome. Drop us a line at webmaster@naga.gov.ph.

Peace!
