ORDINANCE NO. 2022-095

AN ORDINANCE RENAMING MAIN STREET IN GIMENEZ PARK SUBDIVISION, BARANGAY CONCEPCION PEQUEÑA AS CALAMBA CITY STREET IN RECOGNITION AND FULFILLMENT OF OUR SISTERHOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF CALAMBA, THE BIRTH PLACE OF OUR NATIONAL HERO:-

On Joint and Collective Motion

EXPLANATORY NOTE

WHEREAS, last October 24, 2022, in a joint session held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall of the City of Calamba, both the latter city and the City of Naga signed a Sisterhood Agreement in order to establish a relationship with each other that will open opportunities to foster friendship and goodwill and allow their people to interact in areas of culture, commerce, tourism, agriculture, ecology, and local governance, among others;

WHEREAS, in that Sisterhood Agreement, duly signed by the respective Mayors of the Cities of Calamba and Naga and accordingly ratified by the Sangguniang Panlungsod during the said joint session, both the Cities of Calamba and Naga have agreed and committed to identify and undertake various activities and programs for their mutual benefit;

WHEREAS, one of these commitments is the naming of streets in honor of their respective cities, in order to put up a significant landmark as a sign of lasting friendship, ties and for posterity;

NOW THEREFORE, on joint and collective motion of the 14th Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Naga;

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to enact this ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE RENAMING MAIN STREET IN GIMENEZ PARK SUBDIVISION, BARANGAY CONCEPCION PEQUEÑA AS CALAMBA CITY STREET IN RECOGNITION AND FULFILLMENT OF OUR SISTERHOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF CALAMBA, THE BIRTH PLACE OF OUR NATIONAL HERO:-

Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Naga, in session duly assembled:

SECTION 1. CALAMBA CITY STREET. The “Main Street” from the corner of Leon SA. Aureus Street up to the corner of Gimenez Street at Gimenez Park Subdivision in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña is hereby renamed as Calamba City Street, in honor of the birthplace of our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, and in recognition of the Sisterhood Agreement with the City of Calamba.

SECTION 2. TEMPORARY SIGNAGE. To avoid confusion in the maintenance of records and delivery of postal matters, the former name, “(Main Street)” shall be placed beneath the new name, “Calamba City Street” for its temporary street signage.

SECTION 3. REPEALING CLAUSE. All rules and regulations, executive issuances and other public documents which are inconsistent, or in conflict with the provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed and modified accordingly.

SECTION 3. EFFECTIVITY CLAUSE. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
