COMMITTEE ON HOUSING AND SETTLEMENTS

FUNCTIONS

1. Conducts committee/public hearings on matters referred to it by the Sangguniang Panlungsod and recommends action thereon;
2. Studies and reviews existing, as well as proposed, government policies, programs and projects affecting the urban poor;
3. Formulates policies, measures, programs and projects that best respond to the developmental needs, concerns, and issues affecting the urban poor. e.g. livelihood projects, skills training and upgrading, etc.;
4. Reviews and formulates policies and guidelines governing the delivery of services by the City Offices directly concerned with the programs affecting the urban poor;
5. Reviews, formulates and designs program, projects and strategies affecting the urban poor sector’s effective participation in the development directions of the city;
6.  Coordinates with local, regional and national offices on areas and matters affecting the urban poor sector;
7. Reviews and formulates policies and guidelines pertaining to the housing program for the urban poor;
8.  Performs such other functions as the Sanggunian may adopt.
