Summary: This ordinance allows and regulates the operation of up to 100 electric tricycles (e-trikes) in Naga City to help reduce oil dependence, pollution, and create jobs, with priority given to existing trimobile drivers with dilapidated units or “two-strikes.” E-trikes must use eco-friendly batteries, have on-board chargers, and meet safety standards. Applicants must be Naga City residents and voters, while proponents must provide parts, establish at least two charging stations, and can enjoy tax incentives. Franchisees get a 50% discount on certain fees, fares need city approval, and designated e-trike parking will be provided.
