Summary: This ordinance officially names the historical park located at the corner of General Luna Street and Caceres Street in Naga City as “PLAZA DE NUEVA CACERES”. The monument within this park, designed by sculptor Jose A. Barcena, Jr., is also officially named the “NUEVA CACERES MONUMENT”. The purpose of this ordinance is to highlight Naga City’s historical significance as the former Ciudad de Nueva Caceres, which was one of the four original Spanish colonial cities in Southeast Asia, a center for Catholicism, and a hub for nationalist activism.Related Resource:
