Summary: This ordinance amends Section 2 of Ordinance No. 93-028, which established the Government Employees Medical Services (GEMS) in Naga City. The amendment redefines “Naga City Government Employees” to include all permanent, casual, and contractual personnel of the city government. It also specifically extends coverage to city-authorized and registered volunteer workers such as Barangay Day Care Workers (BDCW), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Supplemental Feeding Volunteers (SFV), and Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO). Additionally, employees from Naga City Government Schools, the Philippine National Police, City Jail Management Bureau, and City Fire Protection Bureau remain covered. The ordinance became effective upon its approval.
