AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AND AUTHORIZING A JOINT CELEBRATION OF THE CHARTER ANNIVERSARY OF THE CITY OF NAGA AND THE FEAST DAY OF ST. JOHN, THE EVANGELIST, PATRON OF METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL PARISH, ON DECEMBER 15, THIS YEAR AND EVERY YEAR, THEREAFTER, TO AFFORD THE GOVERNMENT AND ECCLESIASTICAL OFFICIALS AND THE CONSTITUENTS TO FITTINGLY MARK A CIVIL-ECCLESIAL OCCASION IN THE SPIRIT OF ONENESS AND CIVIC SPIRITEDNESS

Summary: This ordinance declares and authorizes an annual joint celebration on December 15th, commemorating both the Charter Anniversary of Naga City and the feast day of St. John the Evangelist, the Patron of the Metropolitan Cathedral Parish. The aim is to provide an opportunity for government and ecclesiastical officials, along with constituents, to mark this civil-ecclesial occasion in a spirit of unity and civic-mindedness. The City Government and ecclesiastical officials are enjoined to coordinate in preparing and implementing a celebration that fosters the common good and the community’s prosperity. The ordinance became effective immediately upon approval.
