Hon. Jefson Romeo Felix

A “pusûánon” young leader who leads by example.

 Hon. Jefson Romeo Felix was a former City Youth Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer in 2023. Under his leadership, a holistic, data-driven, and progressive youth governance became the primary legislative agenda— leading to the introduction of the State of the Youth Address Ordinance.

Prior to that, Hon. Felix is a Medical Technology graduate from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Juan Health PH, a nationwide organization that champions combating health illiteracy, disinformation, and other community and public health dilemmas for a better Philippines.

Hon. Felix is also a Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellow for Civic Engagement, at the Hatfield School of Government, Portland State University, in the United States of America. There, he was able to immerse himself in federal government operations, multinational civil society organizations, urban designing, community organizing, and public policy.

For how many years, Hon. Felix also served as a journalist. From 2019 to 2021, he was the Editor-in-Chief of UST Purple Gazette, the official publication of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical Technology, and Biochemistry. He was also a fact-checker at Rappler and a Master Trainer for the Digital Literacy Program of the ASEAN Foundation.

Apart from all of those, he was also known to be a two-time Athlete of the Year in Naga City Science High School and one of the champion swimmers in Bicolandia.

Now, being the youngest elected official in the city level, he believes that his pragmatic idealism and skill sets will bring out the best in the youth sector of Naga City, focusing on the following advocacy areas: good governance, education, health, active citizenship, economic empowerment, arts and culture, environment, and sports development.

Guided by his “matino at mahusay” brand of leadership, Hon. Felix aims to redefine and set the gold standard in the Sangguniang Kabataan– thereby being a model of exemplary youth governance in the country.
