Realizing the rewards of the 2028 Finish Lines does not only mean undertaking big initiatives—it also involves doing small things that have a meaningful impact on the everyday lives of the Nagueños.
This was evident when Mayor Leni Robredo launched the free shuttle service on July 1, 2025, providing transportation to and from City Hall and the Naga City General Hospital. The service has been met with public approval, especially from individuals accompanying patients.
The free transportation service operates daily, from Monday to Sunday, between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Robredo reported that on its first day of operation, around 110 people availed of the free shuttle. The number rose to more than 200 on the last two days of the first week, confirming the public’s need for such a service.
The mayor said an assessment is being conducted to identify peak days and determine whether a larger vehicle is necessary to accommodate more passengers.
As for the Raul S. Roco Library, Robredo announced that beginning on July 15, 2025, it will operate seven days a week with extended hours—from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
She added that the library is implementing the new schedule despite ongoing major repairs to its ceiling and other parts of the building, which have been affected by termites. The building is also being repainted.
To support the extended operations, Robredo ordered the realignment of the library’s manpower to ensure longer service hours.
She also directed personnel of the Social Hygiene Clinic to use the former office of former Congressman Gabby Bordado at the City Hall compound to help decongest the main City Health Office. The same instruction was given to personnel assisting patients with tuberculosis (TB). | via Jason B. Neola
