Summary: This ordinance, also known as the “Solo Parents’ Ordinance of Naga,” establishes a comprehensive framework to support solo parents and their children in Naga City. It creates a dedicated Solo Parent Office under the City Social Welfare and Development Office to develop and implement welfare programs, coordinate with other agencies, and assist solo parent organizations. The ordinance incorporates the welfare services and privileges from the national Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000 (Republic Act No. 8972), and adds several city-specific benefits.
