Summary: This ordinance creates and institutionalizes a Barangay Health Council in each of Naga City’s 27 barangays, under the supervision of the Naga City Health Board, to ensure community-based and participative health services. Each council, chaired by the Punong Barangay, includes local health and community representatives and is tasked with developing policies and programs on health, sanitation, hygiene, beautification, and waste management. These are recommended to the Barangay Development Council for approval and carried out with the Barangay Council’s support. The ordinance took effect upon its approval.
