Summary: This ordinance prohibits the cutting, pulling, or uprooting of any growing trees located along the Maharlika Highway and on all national, provincial, and city properties, as well as privately owned lands within Naga City. The only exception is if a permit is obtained from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) or from the City of Naga, as authorized by the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Violators are subject to a fine of not more than Five Hundred (P500.00) Pesos or imprisonment of not more than six (6) months, or both, at the court’s discretion. The ordinance became effective immediately upon its approval.
