Summary: This ordinance further amends previous ordinances (No. 87-003, S. 1987 and No. 88-037, S. 1988) concerning hospitalization and medical benefit claims for legitimate Barangay Council Officials across Naga City’s twenty-seven (27) barangays. It clarifies that hospitalization benefits cover confinement in both government and private hospitals, clinics, or dispensaries, including the use of their laboratory facilities. Direct confinement in private facilities is permitted in emergencies (as certified by the attending physician), due to hospital proximity, or for illnesses/injuries incurred during official travel to areas without government medical facilities. A new requirement specifies that an official travel order, signed by the Barangay Captain, is necessary if an official is hospitalized while on official travel. The ordinance took effect upon its approval.
