NAGA CITY — On October 25, 2025, Naga City took a bold leap toward educational advancement by successfully hosting the First LEGO League (FLL) Philippines EduTech Summit 2025 Region V, held at the PAGCOR Multipurpose Building.
The summit gathered school administrators, teachers, coaches, and student leaders under the compelling theme, UNEARTHED, to ignite a dialogue on cultivating innovation in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education.
A Powerful Partnership for Progress
Organized by Felta Multi-Media Inc., a company pioneering modern education technologies, through the local efforts of Naga College Foundation, Inc., the summit brought together participating institutions such as St. Joseph School, Ateneo de Naga University, Washington International School (Legazpi City), and Naga College Foundation, Inc.
The program commenced with a welcoming address by Ms. Mylene Abiva, President and CEO of Felta Multi-Media Inc. This was followed by an Opening Keynote Address and Message of Support from Mr. Reuel M. Oliver, Executive Director of the Naga City Investment and Tourism Promotions Office (ITPO), who underscored the city’s strategic commitment to fostering an environment where technology, education, and innovation intersect. Before the learning sessions proper, Ms. Annalyn Aban, FLL Philippines Coordinator, delivered a keynote talk highlighting the importance of the FLL program in shaping the future of education.

Diving Deep into UNEARTHED
The core of the summit featured a series of engaging and hands-on sessions designed to transform ideas into classroom-ready applications:
- Core Values in Action: Participants engaged in interactive activities led by Dr. Dary Dacanay, focusing on the six pillars of the FIRST Core Values: Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun.
- Robotics Workshop: Design & Mission: Mr. Lance Aban facilitated a hands-on building and coding session using SPIKE Prime, where participants applied robot design principles directly to FLL missions.
- Innovation Project Workshop: Mr. Edwin Engana guided teams in brainstorming solutions to real-world problems, utilizing design thinking to shape their Innovation Projects.
- Design Sprint: Solve for UNEARTHED: The highlight was a fast-paced, collaborative challenge led by Mr. John Paul Obina, culminating in the generation, prototyping, and presentation of innovative solutions connected to the theme.
- Coaching the Team Journey: Coach Sonny mapped out a full-season roadmap—from team formation to competition day—followed by an inspiring Project Demonstration by Team LegaSci.
