AN ORDINANCE GRANTING PERMITS TO OPERATE FOR ONE (1) ADDITIONAL PADYAK UNIT EACH TO NACISUPODA, TAPODA, COPPODA, CALIPODA AND ST. JAMES PADYAK OPERATORS’ AND DRIVERS’ ASSOCIATION:-

Explanatory Note

NACISUPODA, TAPODA, COPPODA, CALIPODA and St. James Padyak Operators’ and Drivers’ Association have manifested the need for additional units to address transportation demand within their respective areas of operation. Each association has applied and requested the grant of an additional Permit to Operate for one (1) padyak unit.

Padyak operations provide an important source of livelihood for drivers and operators in the City of Naga. Owing to their affordability, they also play a vital role in providing transportation, especially for residents belonging to marginalized sectors. The grant of additional permits to operate is consistent with the City’s thrust to promote inclusive employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Thus, the passage of this ordinance is respectfully sought.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Naga, that:

SECTION 1. Permits to Operate are hereby granted for one (1) additional padyak unit each to the following associations:

1. NACISUPODA

2. TAPODA

3. COPPODA

4. CALIPODA

5. St. James Padyak Operators’ and Drivers’ Association

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
