AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 676 SERIES 1980 TO INCLUDE AND PROVIDE HOSPITALIZATION BENEFITS TO BONAFIDE BARANGAY TANOD MEMBERS
IN THE 27 BARANGAYS OF THE CITY OF NAGA: –

Enacted: October 17, 1983
🔑 Key Points:
  • Expanded Coverage: Benefits now include death or hospitalization due to lingering illness and natural causes, not just injury in line of duty.
  • Death Assistance:
    • ₱3,000 for death during or within 48 hours after duty
    • ₱1,500 for death from illness within 6 months of last duty
  • Hospitalization Support:
    • Slight injuries: Up to ₱250
    • Less serious injuries: Up to ₱900
    • Serious injuries: Up to ₱1,500
    • Illness: Up to ₱450
  • Documentation Required: Death certificates, medical reports, and certifications by Barangay and City officials.
  • Review Committee: Chaired by City Mayor; members include the Station Commander and President of the Barangay Federation
  • Tanod Application Rules:
    • Age limit: 18–55
    • Must be physically fit, morally upright, and a resident of the barangay served
  • Effectivity: Upon approval; supersedes Ordinance No. 771 (1981
