On the Saturday before the Traslacion, the Cofradia de San Jose and its female counterpart, Siervas de San Jose, gather at the Basilica for a Recollection and Vigil called Pakikipagtipan ki Ina. After undergoing a formation and renewal program either by Parish or by District usually a month before, they assemble as a whole to offer a covenant with the Lady of Penafrancia.
Organized in 2013 by the Basilica Rector Msgr. Rodel Cajot, Cofradia President Fernan Mendizabal and Formation Chair William Menes, it has the following objectives:
- To promote the growth of the St. Joseph Spirituality among the Voyadores
- To strengthen the bond and camaraderie among the members of the Cofradia
- To prepare the Voyadores for the Penafrancia celebrations.
The first Pakikipagtipan was held on September 7, 2013 and it has been held annually since. Before, it was an overnight activity. But in 2019, the schedule was changed to 1:00pm to 12:00 midnight.
The format of the program is as follows:
- Praise & Worship
- Talk on the Relationship between Inâ, St. Joseph and the Voyadores
- Holy Eucharist Celebration
- Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (Silent Prayer and Healing Liturgy)
- Procession along the major streets of Naga City with a Pause at the Colgante bridge for Novena and Candle lighting for the victims of the Colgante tragedy with a petition for a tragedy-free Fiesta celebration.
