NAGA CITY – On February 13, 2026, the Naga College Foundation, Inc., formally unveiled its journey toward becoming Naga University Foundation (NUF).
During the event, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized NCF among the first institutions to undergo the rigorous process of transitioning into a university. This process serves as both a test and an affirmation of the institution’s readiness to meet higher standards in instruction, research, and community engagement.
One of the highlights of this event is the launching of the university’s humanoids, AI-powered robots envisioned to support learning, innovation, and the integration of emerging technological demands in education.
The milestone goes beyond the pursuit of university status. It also honors nearly eight decades of commitment by the institution’s founders, administrators, educators, and staff in providing accessible and quality education to learners in Naga City and beyond.
Established in 1947 as Naga Teachers College, the institution became Naga College in 1951 and has since expanded its academic offerings from a two-year education program to a comprehensive educational institution serving learners from preschool to college level. The transition toward Naga University Foundation represents the next phase of this long-standing institutional growth.
NCF has also earned recognition from CHED in specific academic areas, including its designation as a Center of Development in Criminology, reflecting compliance with national standards in instruction, research, and extension services.
From steady beginnings to bold transformation, this journey reflects how education in the city continues to adapt as the community advances. The city unceasingly grows from the core, developing talent, strengthening institutions, and shaping the future.
