NAGA CITY, Philippines—The Metro Naga Public Employment Service Office (PESO) has once again demonstrated its excellence, sweeping six major awards, including two prestigious Hall of Fame inductions, at the 2025 Kagalingan sa PESO Regional Awards held last November 26 in Malilipot, Albay.
The outstanding performance secures Naga City’s place as a leader in employment facilitation and public service delivery across the Bicol Region.
A Six-Category Sweep
The Metro Naga PESO was recognized as a Regional Top-Performing & Outstanding PESO (City Category) for CY 2024–2025 in four crucial program areas, underscoring its holistic approach to job generation and workforce development:
- Labor Market Information (LMI): For effective gathering, analysis, and dissemination of data vital for job seekers and employers.
- National Skills Registry Program (NSRP): For exemplary implementation of the database that links job seekers with available vacancies.
- Career Development Support Program (CDSP): For outstanding services in providing career guidance and counseling.
- Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES): For successful management of the program that provides employment to students during vacation.
Double Hall of Fame Achievement
Beyond the individual program victories, Metro Naga PESO and its leadership achieved the highest distinction by entering the Hall of Fame for three consecutive years of winning (2023-2025) in key categories:
- Hall of Fame Award for NSRP Implementation.
- Hall of Fame Award for LMI Implementation.
Furthermore, Metro Naga PESO Manager Roderick Reforsado received the singular honor of being named the Most Outstanding PESO Manager for the same period. Reforsado has reportedly maintained the “Outstanding PESO Manager” award since taking the lead in 2022, securing the Hall of Fame status for this individual achievement as well.
Earlier in the year, the Metro Naga PESO was already recognized as the region’s Outstanding Public Employment Services Office in the City Category during a separate awarding ceremony held in Legazpi City in July 2025. The office’s success is notably reflected in its high referral and placement efficiency, which has reportedly exceeded 90 percent. Latest data from the Philippine Statistics Office, as cited by the Naga City government, indicates a high labor participation rate of 95% employed individuals in the city, suggesting a direct positive impact from the PESO’s efforts.
A Collective Victory for the Community
In a statement, the Metro Naga PESO credited its success to a collaborative effort. “These achievements are the fruit of Metro Naga PESO Family’s hard work, the solid support of the City Government of Naga and DOLE Bicol, and the trust of our constituents,” a representative stated.
“In the end, our real victory is when every family finds hope, dignity, and opportunity through decent work and sustainable livelihood.”(iGov/MPeso)
