Naga launches expanded waste management program for dev’t allies

The City Government of Naga, in partnership with TESDA, Coca-Cola Philippines, and the Camarines Sur Institute of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (CASIFMAS), officially launched the Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO) Level III Training Program under the Trash Free Philippines Program.

The month-long training program, conducted under the auspices of TESDA, started on June 24 and consists of 15 days of online training and another 15 days of face-to-face sessions.

The initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of barangay officials, LGU personnel, and environmental workers in ecological solid waste management through training on waste segregation, materials recovery operations, community education, enterprise development, and local policy formulation.

The Memorandum of Agreement signing and Training Induction Program were held on June 17, 2026, in Zone 7, San Isidro, Naga City. The event was attended by TESDA Director General Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, and Coca-Cola Philippines Senior Director Christine Ponce-Garcia, along with representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, and community partners. | via Jason B.
