Naga City Convenes Global Experts for 2nd International AI EduTech Summit

The 2nd International AI EduTech Summit highlighted human-centric AI and the evolving role of educators at the Summit Hotel Naga last March 25, 2026, bringing together educators, academic leaders, policymakers, and global technology innovators. Guided by the theme Human-Centric AI in Education and Industry: Advancing Learning through Adaptive and Collaborative Technology, the event served as a collaborative avenue to advance discussions on the ethical and responsible integration of artificial intelligence in education, workforce development, and institutional transformation.

Following welcoming remarks by Mario C. Villanueva, President of Naga College Foundation, Inc., Naga City Mayor Hon. Maria Leonor G. Robredo delivered a transformational keynote address that anchored the summit’s core philosophy. She emphasized that despite rapid technological advancements, the quality of the teacher remains the single most powerful predictor of student learning outcomes.

Rather than rendering educators obsolete, well-governed AI is designed to manage transactional tasks, with the potential to free up 30 percent of a teacher’s time. This efficiency allows educators to focus on transformational work, evolving into learning architects, ethical guides, and human anchors equipped with smart tools. Crucially, the keynote highlighted the necessity of teaching “digital discernment”—equipping students with the judgment to know when to turn off the AI, reinforcing that the technology is a supportive tool, not the final authority.

International experts expanded on this human-centric framework by contextualizing the local ecosystem within the broader digital revolution. Amol Choudhary, Partner at Anhui MiMOuse Technology Co, Ltd., noted that modern technology provides a level playing field. He affirmed that the local workforce is actively reskilling and upskilling in tandem with global standards, stating, “We are not behind, we are competing.” Other featured experts included:

  • Alex Urrea | Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Eduscape USA
  • Prem Jagadeesan | Adviser, Amitra School of Intelligence and Scientific Adviser, Yitro Global
  • Jeffrey Peters | Strategic Advisor, Partnership and Alliances for Yitro
  • Jacob Boyle | Founder, MARCo USA and Head of AI Solutions, myEduscape USA

Summarizing the overarching goal of these institutional shifts, Ian Chong, Regional Director at Samsung, noted that the successful integration of AI must ultimately transition the learning experience “from consumption to cognition.”

The summit underscored a strong, cross-sector commitment to modernizing education, supported by an extensive network of partners including Naga College Foundation, Inc., East West Educational Specialists Inc., the Asian Institute of AI, Samsung, Oaktree Innovations, and GMSolutions.
