DisipliNaga enforces no-parking on narrow roads, prioritizes procurement of ‘penetrator’ fire trucks

The city government will strengthen the implementation of its DisipliNaga campaign by strictly enforcing the no-parking policy along alleys and narrow roads to ensure unhampered access for vehicles, particularly ambulances and fire trucks responding to emergencies.

For areas with roads too narrow to accommodate large emergency vehicles, such as the Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) standard fire trucks, Mayor Leni Robredo said the city is considering prioritizing the procurement of penetrator fire trucks to improve emergency response, particularly in densely populated communities where conventional fire engines cannot easily enter.

Robredo said that acquiring penetrator fire trucks will enable BFP personnel to respond more quickly to fire incidents in densely built communities and other highly congested areas where larger fire trucks cannot pass.

A penetrator fire truck is a specialized, compact firefighting vehicle designed to navigate narrow streets, tight alleyways, and other hard-to-reach areas. Its compact size allows firefighters to access communities that are inaccessible to standard fire engines, helping speed up firefighting operations and reduce the risk of fires spreading.

The BFP will coordinate with the city government for the strict enforcement of the no-parking policy to keep emergency access routes clear for responding fire trucks.

Robredo said these initiatives form part of her administration’s continuing DisipliNaga campaign to strengthen public safety and enhance the city’s emergency response capability. |  via Jason B. Neola, head of CMO-Public Information Division
