Naga City is stepping into a more advanced medical era as it officially rolls out its healthcare digitalization pilot testing at the newly opened Super Health Center in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña. This initiative aims to make the processes of doctor consultations and patient data management far more systematic and organized for every Nagueño.
At the center of this technological upgrade is the Digihealth Automated Telehealth Machine (ATM)—a donation from Digihealth Specialist Inc. formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on Tuesday, July 28. This modern system bridges basic diagnostic data directly into an online network, allowing patients to undergo initial screenings like vital sign checks, blood sugar monitoring, hemoglobin tests, and ECGs with the guidance of trained nurses and midwives.
“Marami tayong process na maka-cut ‘yung need ng mag-manual typing,” shared Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Jennette Ruin, noting how the machine seamlessly feeds patient information straight into a clinical management system so doctors can review results instantly. The city government also plans to deploy the portable ATM units during barangay health caravans across communities like Pacol, Concepcion Grande, and Del Rosario to bring diagnostic convenience closer to the grassroots.
Beyond maximizing efficiency, city health officials assured that strict security safeguards are in place to protect patient privacy, with automated digital results sent directly to the patient’s mobile number or email while remaining accessible exclusively to the attending physician. The pilot implementation, which runs until December 31, also draws strength from the PhilHealth YAKAP program to ensure sustainable funding and pave the way for a fully interoperable health network.
